ASSESSMENT SERVICES

Psychological Assessments

We specialize in psychological assessments focused on cognitive differences, neurological diversity, and complex mental health concerns. This includes diagnostic tests for Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, intellectual delays, learning disorders, and other neurodevelopmental concerns. The assessments are tailored according to the referring question and relevant developmental history. All psychological tests used in these assessments are grounded in scientific evidence and administered with compassion and curiosity.

We aim to develop a collaborative relationship where families and individuals can talk openly about their questions and concerns. This collaboration will guide the assessment to what is most relevant for you. A standard assessment includes three visits, as outlined below:

First Visit:
Interview

The initial consultation is a one-hour interview focused on understanding current concerns as well as any delays or challenges experienced during early childhood.

Second Visit:
Evaluation

This session lasts several hours and involves administering gold-standard psychological tests tailored to the concerns identified during the first visit. Following the session, we spend hours scoring, interpreting, and compiling the findings of the assessment.

Third Visit:
Results and Support

During this session, we review the findings, provide recommendations, and answer any questions. A comprehensive report summarizing the assessment is also provided for sharing with therapists, medical providers, or educators.

therapeutic SERVICES

Psychotherapy

We provide therapeutic support for parents who experienced a significant change in their mental health following pregnancy and/or the birth of their baby. A new baby often brings joy and excitement to a family, but the role of parenting can at times feel overwhelming, destabilizing, or isolating. Research indicates that all parents, regardless of gender, are at risk for developing mental health challenges during pregnancy or in the first year after a baby is born. In this, we provide a supportive space to help parents process what the changes have meant for them and improve the overall well being.

We also provide expertise related to pediatric sleep challenges or sleep disorders for adults. For children, this therapeutic support typically consists of one to three visits to clarify how sleep is being disrupted and what interventions could be utilized to address those concerns. One or two follow-up visits will help gauge the effectiveness of the recommended interventions or whether additional interventions are needed. For adults, sleep related psychotherapy tends to be longer lasting (three to five months, depending on progress) and may involve cognitive-behavioral treatment as well as additional therapeutic modalities, depending on the clinical needs.
